Short story about the titanic battle between sense and sensibility in human relationships: the Mind sets rules, but the Heart can’t obey
Short emblematic story of the titanic battle between sense and sensibility in human relationships: the Mind sets rules but the Heart cannot obey.
A mysterious film director decide to make a movie out of a painful memory of his last break up. Precisely the short film “Petite Blanche” will show the last day of shooting of the entire feature film, in which the anonymous director portrayed himself as JAMES (31 years old), a piano teacher who fell for his younger student (23 years old) that he calls “PETITE BLANCHE”. Forced by the director, the actor who plays JAMESis required to be harsh and cynical with BLANCHE to make her feel guilty for what she did. However, the actor identifies with JAMES, who is the SENSITIVE and EMOTIONAL projection of the HYPER-RATIONALdirector, and so he finds hard to suffocate his feelings for BLANCHE when he finally meets her to give her a farewell gift. Above all, BLANCHE does not expect to see him again… Hence, when they finally meet JAMES is overwhelmed by tender memories that temper his anger so that he even begins to change the words he is supposed to say… However, at every “willful mistake” the film director calls the “CUT”…
